With my comfort tossed aside,
I sought the stillness of the night.
These peaceful treasured moments,
just before the morning light.
The trees seemed almost frozen,
the water looked like glass,
surrounded by the silence,
as twilight became my class.
I joined by standing quietly,
in awe too deep to speak.
Oh the things I’ve been observing
as You teach me how to seek.
In quietness and stillness
You renew us with Your Strength.
To acknowledge Your Sovereignty
for just this moments length.
You prepare us for what’s ahead.
I thank You now for rousing me
from that warm and cozy bed.
Now I Know, there’s nothing Greater,
even death You can destroy.
And in this morning stillness
You taught me Peace and fullness of Joy.
