Love is Greater than Stereotypes
What images come to mind when you hear the word Muslim? Is it an image that produces Love or fear?
Do you know what images come to mind when a Muslim hears the word Christian?
Here are just a few that were surprising to me:
The symbol of the cross was carried by the Crusaders as they massacred Muslims and Jews alike to regain control of religious sites.
The immorality of our “Christian” media, entertainment industry and fashion of those wearing the cross.
The appearance of polytheism or worship of anything other than the One and only Creator.
Human nature tends to drift toward Partiality
It is necessary to turn our nature upstream, into the current of God’s Way. God’s nature is impartial, “YHVH your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality...” Deuteronomy 10:17
We live in a day where God’s original teachings are available in almost every language. It is possible for each of us to check our beliefs to the plum line of God’s unchanging Torah Truth. No on has an excuse to say they didn’t know YHVH’s nature.
“Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood through what He has made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20
Let us love others, impartially, in obedience to the love God has instructed and demonstrated to all mankind. Let us be merciful as He is merciful to those who show mercy. James 2:13
He has shown you, O man, what is Good. What does the YHVH require of you? To do what is Right and to love (Chesed= acts of loving kindness) Mercy and to walk Humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
