Watch out, those who call bad good, and good bad; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20
It’s no surprise we humans get so confused, ever since Adam and Eve ate from that tree in the Garden, all mankind has the knowledge of good and bad, and now we are all deceived.
In reality bad and good are polar opposites, comparable to dark and light, bitter and sweet, but now good and bad exist together. It’s true, without Bad we wouldn’t know Good. It’s just that, when they get all blended together Bad doesn’t seem so bad anymore. That’s why picking and choosing our own ideas about what’s bad and what’s good looks so mixed up.
The Good Tree and the Bad Tree
From the beginning our Creator, YHVH, has made the difference clear in many different ways. Sometimes using metaphors, such as trees, a physical imagery used to describe a spiritual reality that we can not be see or understand.
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. Matthew 12:33
A tree has either a good root or a bad root, not both. The unseen condition of a trees root is eventually revealed by its fruit that can be seen.
Our Creator is invisible to us, although He can be seen and understood through what He has made, Romans 1:20. There is nothing bad in Him, Psalm 92:15, He is Light and there is no darkness in Him at all, 1 John 1:5.
In other words, Good has nothing to do with bad just as darkness is just the absence of Light. It is only when we are rooted in the world that we think it’s normal for good and bad to come out of the same mouth, James 3:10
“You brood of vipers, (people who think they are good) how can you, being bad, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart, Matthew 12:34.
We are all in Need of a Transplant into the Good Soil of His Kingdom
If we love the world, the Father’s Love is not in us.1 John 2:15
Not only do we call bad good and good bad, we actually love, desire and choose the darkness of the temporary world. Why would we choose diseased soil unless we were believing a lie? What is the only thing that is able to set us free from a lie? The Truth, John 8:32.
YHVH’s Kingdom is not of this World. John 17:14
There are many of us who seek our Creator in world religions but not many intimately seek their Creator. YHVH has made a way to know Him directly, Jeremiah 31:34
YHVH made a covenant promise to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15. Since the beginning mankind has had hope in a Seed, or offspring, of the woman, who would stand victoriously with one foot on the Serpents head, representing the end of the adversary’s rein on earth..
The Bad Tree is the Serpent
The Serpent represents YHVH’s Adversary. In Hebrew the word for bad is Ra, it simply means every bad thing. Satan is a more modern translation for Adversary, a term used for our evil or bad inclination or anything against, being an enemy of YHVH.
You adulterous (unfaithful to the one who made us) people, don’t you know that friendship (alliance) with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy (adversary) of God. James 4:4
YHVH’s adversary masquerades as an angel of Light, 2 Corinthians 11:14 he is the god of this world, 2 Corinthians 4:4, the father of all deceit, there is no Truth in him, John 8:44. Sound a little like a description of the human ego?
What does Bad Fruit look like?
Immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, swindlers, those who do not do right, the deceived who follow after their own lusts, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Peter 4:3
How to Keep Unstained by the World? James 1:27
Ever try to keep unstained in a world full of bad fruit? Even when we know what bad fruit is it can still stain us. That’s the point, we need more than a stain remover, we need a new white rob.
Baptism is a symbolism of being buried under the water and raised up again to new life, Colossians 2:12. We become Set Apart from the world as new life begins to grow in us, Romans 6:4 We are free or saved from our decaying roots and grafted into the Good, healthy, Tree.
The Good Tree is Y’shua (our Salvation)
YHVH defined the Way that leads to lasting Life in the Torah and the Prophets, given to Moses in writing, about 1500 B.C. This was not a new Way, but a Way known from the beginning. At the Appointed time the Torah and Prophets (The Word) became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:14; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23.
Y’shua told us that He was “the Way, the Truth and the Life,” in other words, He was the Torah and Prophets. John 14:6.
Y’shua is like a tree that has been transplanted from the bad soil of the world into His Father’s Kingdom. The Torah and Prophets were all pointing to Y’shua, John 5:39. Y’shua was and is the fulfillment of YHVH’s only promised or covenant son, Hebrews 1:5. When we are in Him and He is in the Father we also have Spiritual Life, John 14:11; 1 John 3:24. As long as we do not persist in our unbelief, Romans 11:23.
