We Went to Learn More About The Israeli Palestinian Conflict

We thought traveling to Israel and Palestine, to meet with people living in the midst of this conflict, would give answers.

“If we think we have answers, we may not even understand the question.”

Now I understand why we kept hearing this quote but I didn’t think it pertained to me until after I returned home.  Now I have a confession to make, I do think there’s only One answer.  Honestly, doesn’t everyone who believes in our Messiah’s covenant on the cross think; if only they knew the Prince of PeaceIsaiah 9:6Ephesians 2:14

But I came home humbled by some pretty hefty questions.  These questions kept me up at night, or maybe it was jet lag, but either way, I had a lot of time to think.

“There are many sides to this Israeli Palestinian conflict.”

This was another quote we heard as we began our journey into Palestinian territory.  Although walking next to the thirty foot concrete dividing wall I could only see two sides, the Jewish and the Non-Jewish.

Why was this physical dividing wall so obvious when the Spiritual dividing wall had been abolished over 2,000 years ago, Ephesians 2:14-16?  The prophesy of the promised Seed was fulfilled through the line of Judah.  There is no more reason for division between Jew and non-Jew.  Our Jewish Messiah has made both into One, establishing peace …1 Corinthians 12:13Colossians 1:20Colossians 3:11 and 15.

Chrisy at the Wall

So why was there still a physical dividing wall growing?  What exactly has changed in the past two thousand years since Spiritual peace was established?

Peace Was Never Promised to This Temporary World of Death and Destruction

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if it were, My servants would fight to prevent My arrest by the Jews. But now, My Kingdom is not of this realm.” John 18:36

Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.Matthew 10:34

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor/grace rests!”Luke 2:14

Re-reading the three verses above clarified three things: 1.) His Kingdom is not of this world;  2.) it is not observable;  3.) it is within those who rest in His favor/grace, Luke 17:20Luke 17:21.

Since Adam and Eve there has been a purpose for division.  And with the curse of death came a promise of hope, Genesis 3:15.  Our Merciful Creator did not permit them to eat from the Tree of Life and live in their fallen state forever.   No one will not be permitted to eat from the Tree of Life until they overcome, Revelation 2:7

All that to say, “heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.” Matthew 24:35 this world, earth, land is as temporary as we are.

“The Land is Mine.”

Leviticus 25:23Hebrews 11:131 Peter 2:11Exodus 19:5Psalm 119:19.

The land belongs to YHVH (He Exists) to give or take from whomever He pleases.

In reality we are all just renters with One Landlord, Matthew 21:41.  Our temporary bodies and this temporary earth will be made New, Isaiah 65:17Isaiah 60:212 Peter 3:13.

Both King David and Y’shua (Jesus) were referring to the New earth when they said, “the humble will inherit the earth,” Psalm 37:11Matthew 5:5.

I’ve discovered it wasn’t the answers but the questions that humbled me enough to re-think and search the Living, Unchanging Word of YHVH.

Has Isaiah’s prophesy about All people becoming righteous and “possessing the Land Forever” been accomplished? Isaiah 60:21

When this glorious mystery of The Good News is accomplished, who will inherit what Land?  Psalm 37:29Matthew 5:5

“but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of YHVH is accomplished, as He preached to His servants the prophets.” Revelation 10:7

“Surely YHVH God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets,” Amos 3:7

The Two Sticks becoming One

Regarding Judah and Ephraim, the Jewish and Non-Jewish, and the two sticks became One, “join them for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become One in your hand. Ezekiel 37:17

“And YHVH will be King over all the earth; in that day YHVH will be the only one, and His Name the only one,” Zechariah 14:9.

We still, hopefully, await the day YHVH brings His Kingdom to reign on the new earth.

“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law, (Torah) or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.  Until heaven and earth pass away not one yod or vav will pass from the Torah until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:17; Matthew 5:18

All is not yet accomplished.  Physically we still live under the curse of “enmity” YHVH placed between the Seed of the woman and the seed of the Serpent,  Genesis 3:15.

We know Y’shua took the curse on the cross, Galatians 3:13.  He fulfilled that obscure Hebrew idiom, “He will bruise his head,”  meaning, to conquer.  He conquered death when He rose to New Spiritual Life, on the third day of First Fruits. At the pre-appointed time of Unleavened Bread, and proof that the rest would follow, (when all is accomplished),  1 Corinthians 15:20.

“If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too.” Romans 11:16

Unity in Him

From Adam to Judah, we are able to trace the linage of the prophesied Seed.  YHVH divided one people, from all the peoples of the earth, so all would recognize Y’shua as the promised Messiah.  Yet this physical division remains only because people failed to  search the Scriptures to see what they said about Him. John 5:39

Weather it is believed or not, the reason for the division between Jewish or non-Jewish has been fulfilled.  We are One in Y’shua Messiah, the promised Seed of Abraham, and heirs of the coming promise, Galatians 3:28,29.

From Genesis to Revelation, YHVH’s (He Exists) reveals His plan from the beginning was for All peoples to be blessed, Genesis 12:3Revelation 15:4

“The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles, non-Jewish, by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU.” Galatians 3:8

But try Explaining that to a Wall…

Back to our tour and the exceptional job our guides did of setting us up with informative meetings and meals with Palestinian Christians, Muslims, and Israeli settlers.

We were met with warm greetings, hospitality, kind faces and stoic stories of suffering, loss, forgiveness and perseverance.  Now I realize how little I understood about the cultural importance of the land. On both sides there are those who are willing to risk their lives for what they know is rightfully their land.

  1. Abolishing in His flesh the enmity? I thought this is referring to the penalties of the Law. When Yeshua died He became the permanent sin offering sacrifice. We no longer need animal sacrifices to cover sin . However as you accurately said the principles of Torah remains. So Torah is not abolished but the animal sacrifices are besides they were never good enough.

And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
    Hebrews 9:22 NASB

BTW I have read a few of your articles and was blessed.

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting Mae! Yes, there is no condemnation or penalty for those in Him, Romans 8:1.
Also, Hebrews 9:22 better translates “there is no release or deliverance.” Because we do forgive without the shedding of blood but His blood has pardoned our offences as if they no longer exist.
      Toda raba, Shalom
