Sukkot Is Our Creator’s Fall In-gathering
A Sukkah translates into English as a Booth, Hut, Dwelling or Tabernacle. The Hebrew root word “sukak,” Strong’s #5526b, means “to be knit together.”
Sukkah is the name of a “Temporary Shelter.” Like Israelite’s dwelt in for 40 years after their deliverance from slavery in Egypt.
From Creation God Set Appointments With Mankind
“In the beginning God said, let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to make a distinction between the day and night and they did exist for Signs and Seasons/Appointed/Set Times/Meetings/Festivals, (Moedim #4150) and for days and years.” Genesis 1:14
On the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, beginning at sundown, all who observe and keep God’s Word will stop, cease, rest from their bondage work, and begin celebrating the seven Days of Sukkot, also known as the time of the Fall In-gathering.
“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, you are to hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work, and you shall observe a feast for
the LORD YHVH for seven days.” Numbers 29:12
“On the eighth day you shall have an assembly, you shall do no regular work.” Numbers 29:35
YHVH’s (He Is, Was and Will Be) Appointments Bless All
“The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles (Nations, Peoples) by faithfulness, and foretold the Good News to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.“ Galatians 3:8; Genesis 22:18
This is the Ultimate, Spiritual Good News that was revealed for All.
the LORD YHVH spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths (Sukkot) for seven days to the LORD YHVH, Leviticus 23:34. On the first day is a holy, (qodesh #6944) convocation, (Miqra #4744); you shall do no laborious work of any kind, Leviticus 23:35
“For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to
the LORD YHVH. On the eighth day you shall have a holy (set apart) convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD YHVH; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work,” Leviticus 23:36… (The Offering made by fire is referring to the Fall In-gathering,) Exodus 34:22
Why We Rest on the First Day and the Eighth Day
Jesus/Yehoshua, (meaning YHVH’s Salvation) would have been born in a Sukkah in Bethlehem and circumcised on the 8th day like all Hebrew males.
39 ‘On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of
the LORD YHVH for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day. 40 ‘Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD YHVH your God for seven days. (See Nehemiah 8:15 for more clarity on these branches)…
41 ‘You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to
the LORD YHVH for seven days in the year. It shall be a Perpetual, (Olam #5769) statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 ‘You shall live in Booths, (Sukkah #5521) for seven days; all who are born Israelite’s, (YHVH gave birth to/begot physical Israel as a shadow of Spiritual Israel) will live in booths, 43 so that your generations may know that I had the children of Israel live in Sukkah’s when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD YHVH your God.’ Leviticus 23:33-44
Christ’s Birth Would Have Been at YHVH’s Appointed Time
the LORD YHVH Himself will give you a Sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel, (with us is God), Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:23.
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling (Sukkah) among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace/favor and Truth, John 1:14
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling (Sukkah) place of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God, Revelation 21:3; Ezekiel 37:27; 2 Corinthians 6:16
Our Creator did not instruct us to celebrate Christ’s birth, but He did say, Do not behave like they do toward YHVH… Do Not Add or Take Away from my instructions, Deuteronomy 12:31; Deuteronomy 12:32.
Only someone unfamiliar with God’s Word would believe it was okay to Add Christ’s birth to man’s Christmas Solstice and Take Away YHVH’s 7 Holy days.
It’s a Blessing to Turn Back to Our Creator’s Days
Sukkot is the original Thanksgiving Harvest/In-gathering Feast. Enjoy dwelling, (eat and sleep) in a Sukkah for a week. I began by putting up a pup tent but each year I gain deeper insights of YHVH’s promises, provision and protection and my Sukkot celebration is beginning to look more festive.
