Sabbath Exists For Everyone

The 7th Day Sabbath is Misunderstood

Sabbath means 7th day rest, to cease, end or complete.  No, God was not tired after six days of creating.  Sabbath is more like the “rest note” on a sheet of music letting an entire symphony know exactly when to stop and for how long.

Our Creator orchestrated so many perpetual cycles.  We can observe beginnings and endings: evening, darkness, sleep, death is continually ending with each new morning, light, wakefulness, birth, life.  The Sun, Moon and Stars were set as Signs of Seasons, Years and Months, right down to the Seven day week.  Their courses can be calculated with mathematical precision.

“Then God Blessed the Seventh day and Sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” Genesis 2:3

In six days, (from darkness to light) God created the universe, (one verse) and when He finished He created the Seventh day and Blessed it, Sanctifying it, (setting it apart) from the other six days.

Why?  Because every Sabbath is a reminder of our Eternal Rest.

“Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice:  with YHVH a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day,” Peter 3:8 referring to Psalm 90:4

Did Y’shua/Jesus Un-Bless or Un-Sanctify The Seventh Day?

Declaring the end from the beginning our Creator’s purpose Is established and His will Is done, Isaiah 46:10.  Perfect from the day He spoke the Universe into existence, from the Aleph to the Tav, His Word Is, Was and Always Will Be/Exist:  Psalm 119:89; John 1:10; Colossians 1:16, 17; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Hebrews 1:2, 11:3; Revelation 2:8, 3:14, 22:13…

Only a man with no understanding of Torah, (God’s Teaching/a Light shining the Way of Truth and Life) would add or take away from God’s Spiritual Torah, Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:19.

“We know that Torah is Spiritual…” Romans 7:14

Ignorance of Torah is why men, like Emperor Constantine, do just that.  Additions and subtractions were made official at the council of Nicaea, A.D. 321 and later at the council of Laodicea, 336 A.D.

This excerpt was taken from the Catholic Catechism Q. and A.  The last one explains why the 7th day Sabbath was changed to Sunday.  It is still taught and believed today that Jesus Christ gave “The Church,” the “divine power,” to make substitutions:

Q. Which is the Sabbath day?  A. Saturday is the Sabbath day.
Q. Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?  A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea, (AD 336) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday….
Q. Why did the Catholic Church substitute Sunday for Saturday?  A. The Church substituted Sunday for Saturday, because Christ rose from the dead on a Sunday, and the Holy Ghost descended upon the Apostles on a Sunday.
Q. By what authority did the Church substitute Sunday for Saturday?  A. The Church substituted Sunday for Saturday by the plenitude of that divine power which Jesus Christ bestowed upon her! Rev. Peter Geiermann, C.SS.R., (1946), p. 5

As lay people gained access to the Scriptures in their own language they began protesting the obviously false doctrines of Catholic church.  In 1517, Martin Luther’s 95 Thesis became famous, giving birth to the first Protestants.

Sadly mainstream Christianity remains divided from YHVH’s 7th day Sabbath as Protestant seminaries continue to indoctrinate our pastor’s with man-made changes that do not match up to Torah.

The Seventh Day is a Sign Between YHVH (He Is) and His People

Regardless of how many are mislead, our Creator’s 7th day remains Blessed.  He kept it, Adam kept it, as well as Noah, Abraham, Moses, Nehemiah, Mary, Paul and every true prophet kept the 7th day Set Apart/Holy from the other six days.

“Sanctify, (set apart) My Sabbaths; and they shall be a Sign between Me and you, that you may know that I Am YHVH your God.’ Ezekiel 20:20;  Ezekiel 20:12

The Sabbath is a Delight

If because of the Sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own desire on My Holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy day of YHVH honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, from seeking your own desire and speaking your own word, Isaiah 58:13

Moses wrote the Details of How to Keep Sabbath Holy

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it sanctified, (qadash 36942) “Six days you shall labor/serve, (abad #5647) and do all your work/duty, (melakah #4399) but the Seventh day is a Sabbath of YHVH your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you, Exodus 20:8-11.

Y’shua and Every 1st Century Follower Kept Sabbath

Contrary to what you may have heard, Y’shua never broke the Sabbath, Y’shua was “sinless,” 2 Corinthians 5:21.  Sin is defined by the standard of the Ten Commandments.  Number Four says; “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy/sanctified,” Exodus 20:8

“Then Jesus and His companions went to Capernaum, and as soon as the Sabbath began, Jesus entered the synagogue and began to teach.” Mark 1:21,22,39

He broke the legalism of the man-made rules the religious leaders taught but not Torah.

“If a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the Law, (Torah) of Moses will not be broken, why are you angry with Me for making the whole man well on the Sabbath?” John 7:23

Picking heads of grain when you’re hungry is not harvesting on Sabbath.

“At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them.” Matthew 12:1

According to Torah, it is okay to pick grain, (with your hand) from someones field when you’re hungry.  Needless to say, we don’t harvest any field on Sabbath, and we are never to use a sickle in someone else’s field.

“When you enter your neighbor’s standing grain, then you may pluck the heads with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor’s standing grain.    Deuteronomy 23:25,

“Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.” Luke 23:56Luke 6:5, 6;  Matthew 28:1…

Y’shua gave this warning to those who break the Commandments and teach others to do the same;

“whoever breaks the least of these Commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven, Matthew 5:18 ;Matthew 5:19.

If there is still any doubt that Y’shua and every first century follower kept the Seventh day Holy please take some time to look up; Acts 13:14, 27, 42-44; 15:21, 16:13, 17:2, 18:4.

‘The Son of Adam is LORD/YHVH of the Sabbath,” Matthew 12:8.  Sabbath is the 7th daynot the 1st day of the week.

“Jesus said, if you want to enter Life, obey the Commandments,” Matthew 19:17.  The 4th Commandment says, Keep the Sabbath Holy.

Even These Qur’ran Surahs (Verses) Acknowledge The Sabbath

“And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the Sabbath...” 2:65

“And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, “Enter the gate bowing humbly”, and We said to them, “Do not transgress on the Sabbath”, and We took from them a solemn covenant.” 4:154

“And ask them about the town that was by the sea – when they transgressed in [the matter of] the Sabbath – when their fish came to them openly on their Sabbath day, and the day they had no Sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.” 7:163
