Why Did God Create Israel?

If You Don’t Understand Israel, You Don’t Understand The Good News.

The first time we hear the name Israel is right after Jacob, Abraham’s grandson, wrestles all night with a man/God, and he Prevails.   Genesis 32:24; Genesis 32:25; Genesis 32:26.

He said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have persevered, (sarah #8280) with God and with men and have Prevailed, (yakol #3201).Genesis 32:28.

God tells Jacob the meaning of his new name, Israel, because you have persevered with God and with men and Prevailed.”  It is important to understand the meaning of the name Israel in order to connect its synonyms throughout the Bible; Victory, Conquerors, Overcome, Triumphant, Reign, Succeed, from Genesis 3:15 to Revelation 12:11.

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the Victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ, (Y’hoshua Messiah) 1 Corinthians 15:57

“No, in all these things we are more than Conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
“because everyone born of God Overcomes the world.  And this is the Victory that has Overcome the world: our faith.” 1 John 5:4

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assembly (Israel). To the one who Prevails/Overcomes/Conquers/Triumphs/is Victorious, I will grant the right to eat of the Tree of Life in the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7

God Creates “Physical” Israel to Reveal “Spiritual” Israel

Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your Torah.” Psalm 119:18

Spiritual blindness remains on those under the physical curse of sin and death, Deuteronomy 27:26 ; Psalm 119:21Jeremiah 11:3Galatians 3:10.  “But Blessed are your eyes” and your ears when you perceive God’s Spiritual redemption that came through His Living Word, (Y’hoshua); Hebrews 4:12; Ephesians 6:17Romans 7:14; Galatians 3:14; John 1:1.

“But Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” Matthew 13:16

“Yet to this day YHVH has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear.” Deuteronomy 29:4

“This is why I (Y’hoshua) speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.” Matthew 13:13

“All Nations Will Be Blessed Through You.

This is The Good News, “All Nations Will Be Blessed Through You.”  May you be blessed to perceive this Spiritual mystery that has been revealed through the “Seed” of Israel.

Jacob, now called Israel, like his father Isaac and his grandfather Abraham, all receive the same, very unique, promise, “All nations (goyim) will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3 Genesis 26:4Genesis 28:14.

*Notice the Hebrew word, goyim #1471, it is not an ethnic or religious term, All means All.

Hence Jacob’s name change begets a Holy, (Set Apart) Nation/People, (Goy #1471) to YHVH, (He Exists).

Israel was holy to YHVH, The first of His harvest. All who ate of it became guilty; evil came upon them,” declares YHVH” Jeremiah 2:3

The Good News Came Through Abraham’s Seed/Offspring

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you Good News of great joy that will be for All the peopleLuke 2:10

The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the gentiles (goyim) by faith, and foretold the Gospel/the Good News to Abraham: “All Nations, (Goyim) will be blessed through you.” Galatians 3:8

Abraham did not receive one foot of the promised physical land, Acts 7:5; Genesis 13:15  He foresaw the Spiritual promise of the Good News; “All nations will be blessed through you.

God foretold Abraham his descendants would be strangers in a land not their own, and they will be enslaved and oppressed 400 years.  Then God would judge the nation they served and afterward they would come out with great possessions.  Genesis 15:13

This all happened just as God prophesied:  Abraham’s grandson, Israel, moved his small clan of 70 people to Egypt because of the great famine.  His people were eventually oppressed by the new Pharaoh, and 400 years later, like a long labor, the nation of Israel was delivered. (see the book of Exodus)

This is Why Israel is Called, “My Son

“Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says YHVH, “Israel is My SonMy Firstborn.” Exodus 4:22; Jeremiah 31:9

Israel had twelve sons who became the twelve tribes of Israel.  His favored son, Joseph, was sold into slavery by his half brothers when he was 17 years old.  Joseph ended up in Egypt, misunderstood and unjustly imprisoned until he was 30 years old.  After interpreting the Pharaoh’s dream Joseph was appointed second in command of all Egypt.  He was also given an Egyptian wife and they have two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

The great famine, as revealed in Pharaoh’s dream, brings Joseph’s family, Israel, to Egypt in search of grain.  Israel consisted of 70 people who were welcomed to settle in the land of Goshen.  The next generation brought a new Pharaoh who oppressed the Israelite’s, just as God foretold Abraham, they were enslaved for 400 years.

Out of Affliction God Brought Forth His Spiritual Promise.

“I will surely tell of the decree of YHVH: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You (brought you forth).” Psalm 2:7

I also shall make him My Firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.” Psalm 89:27

“But now, YHVH, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

“When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My Son.” Hosea 11:1

This fulfilled what the Lord (YHVH) had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”Matthew 2:15

Y’hoshua, (Jesus) is Called “My Son.”

(Y’hoshua means YHVH’s Salvation in Hebrew, Y’shua is Aramaic, Jesus is English)

“And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!” Matthew 3:17;Mark 1:11; Mark 9:7 Luke 3:22Luke 9:35; John 3:16

“For to which of the angels did God ever say: “You are my Son; today I have become Your Father”?  Or again: “I will be His Father, and He will be My Son”?  Hebrews 1:5; Psalm 2:7

He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus (Y’hoshua). As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son, today I have become Your Father.’ Acts 13:33

Israel Was Created to Reveal God’s Anointed Seed, Y’hoshua.

“The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.  The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your Seed,”meaning One, who is Messiah/Christ.”  Galatians 3:16; Genesis 3:15

In your Seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” Genesis 22:18

Still a Veil Covers Their Hearts

“And even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.  But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, (YHVH’s Salvation), the veil is taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:152 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 4:18Isaiah 25:7…

Abraham was given the promise of the Seed who would bless All nations, 430 years before Moses wrote the Torah.  The Torah records the same promise of a Seed given to Adam and Eve 2,000 years earlier, Genesis 3:15.  Y’hoshua was born, 4,000 years later and explained, Moses wrote about Him, John 5:46; Luke 24:27

“What I mean is this: The Law (Moses) that came four hundred thirty years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to cancel the promise.” Galatians 3:17

Not Understanding The Good News is the Cause of Religious Divisions

The point being, the world’s religious divisions are proof the veil remains.  When the promised Seed came it was no longer necessary to set apart the lineage he would come through.

There is neither Jew (Judean) nor Greek, (Gentile) slave nor free, male nor female, for you are All One in Messiah Y’hoshua, (Christ Jesus).   And if you belong to Messiah/Christ, then you are Abraham’s Seed and heirs according to the Promise. Galatians 3:28Galatians 3:29

“And this is the Promise that He (YHVH) Himself made to us: Eternal Life.” 1 John 2:25

For my eyes have seen Your Salvationwhich You have prepared in the sight of All people, a Light for revelation to the Gentiles (Goyim) and for glory to Your people Israel.”  Luke 2:30Luke 2:31Luke 2:32Acts 13:47; Isaiah 42:6Isaiah 49:6
