Proverbs Chapter 11

1. YHVH (יְהוָֹה #3068 from havah) detests, (תּוֹעֵבַה toebah #8441), dishonest, (מִרְמָה mirmah #4820 from ramah) scales, (מֹאזֵן mozayn #3976 from azan) but whole, (שָׁלֵם shalem #8003) stones, (אֶבֶן eben #68) are accepted (רָצוֹן ratson #7522 from ratzah).
2. When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble, (tsanua #6794a) comes Wisdom.
3. The integrity, (tummah #8538) of the upright/straight, (Yashar #3477) will guide them, but the crookedness (seleph #5558) of the unfaithful, (bagad #898) will destroy, (shadad #7703) them.
4. Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, (ebrah #5678) but righteousness, (tzedeqah #6666) will snatch them, (natsal #5337) from death, (maveth #4194).
5. The righteousness of the blameless, (tamim #8549) makes their paths straight, but the wicked, (rasha #7563) fall by their own wickedness, (risha #7564).
6. The righteousness of the upright, (yashar #3477) delivers them, but the unfaithful, (bagad #898) are taken, (lakad #3920) by their own desires, (havvah #1942).
7. When a wicked, (rasha #7563) man dies, his hope, (tiqvah #8615b) perishes, (abad #6) with him; and his expectation, (tocheleth #8431) of strength, vigor (on #202) perishes.
8. The righteous person is rescued, (chalats #2502a) from trouble, and it falls on the wicked, (rasha #7563) instead.
9. With their mouths the godless, (chaneph #2611) destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge, (daath #1847) the righteous are rescued, (chalats #2502a).
10. When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked, (rasha #7563) perish, there are shouts of joy, (rinnah #7440 from ranan).
11. Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, (rum #7311) but by the mouth of the wicked, (rasha #7563) it is torn down, (haras #2040).
12. Whoever despises, (buz #936) their neighbor lacks, (chaser #2638) heart, (leb #3820) but the one who has Understanding, (Tebunah #8394 from Bin) keeps silent, (charash #2790b).
13. A gossip, slanderer, (rakil #7400) betrays a confidence, but the trustworthy, (aman #539) conceals, (kasah #3680) words, (dabar #1697).
14. For lack of guidance a nation falls, but there is victory/salvation, (teshuah #8668) through greatness, (rob #7230 from rabab) of counsel, (yaats #3289).
15. Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe.
16. A kindhearted woman gains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth.
17. Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.
18. A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps True, (Emeth #571) reward, (seker #7938 from sakar).
19. Truly the righteous attain Life, but whoever pursues evil finds death.
20. YHVH detests those whose hearts are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.
21. Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free.
22. Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.
23. The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked only in wrath.
24. One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
25. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
26. People curse the one who hoards grain, but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.
27. Whoever seeks Good finds favor, but evil comes to one who searches for it.
28. Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
29. Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the Wise.
30. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is Wise saves lives.
31. If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!
