Proverbs Chapter 12

1. Whoever loves, (aheb #157) Discipline, (Musar #4148) loves Knowledge, (Daath #1847) but whoever hates, (sane #8130) reproof, (tokachath #8433b) is senseless, (baar #1198).
2. Good, (Tov #2896a) people obtain, (pook #6329) acceptance, (ratzon #7522) from YHVH, but a man who schemes, (mezimmah #4209 from zamam) is condemned/wicked, (rasha #7561).
3. Man, (Adam #120) will not be established, (kun #3559) in wickedness, (resha #7562) but the root, (shoresh #8328) of the righteous, (Tzadiq #6662) will not be moved/shaken, (mote #4131) .
4. An excellent/strong, (chayil #2428) wife, (ishah #802) is her husband’s/lord/provider, (baal #1167) crown, but she who shames, (bosh #954) him is like rottenness, (raqab #7538) in his bones.
5. The plans of the righteous are Just, but the advice/counsel, (tachbulah #8458) of the wicked, (rasha #7563) is deceit, (mirmah #4820).
6. The words of the wicked, (rasha #7563) lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright, (yashar #3477) rescues, (natsal #5337) them.
7. The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous, (Tzaddiq #6662) stands, (amad #5975).
8. A person is praised according to their Prudence/Insight, (Sekel #7922) and one with a preverse, (avah #5753a) heart, (leb #3820) is despised, (buz #937).
9. Better is dishonor, (qala #7034) and service/work, (ebed #5650 from abad) than to honor yourself, (kabad #3513) and lack bread.
10. The Righteous know, (yada #3045) the soul, (nephesh #5315) of their animals, but the Compassion, (Racham #7356) of the wicked are cruel, (akzari #394)
11. Those who work, (abad #5647) their land will be satisfied with bread, but those who chase fantasies lack heart, (leb #3820).
12. The wicked desire, (chamad #2530) the booty, (matsod #4685b) of those who do bad, (ra #7451a), but the root, (shoresh #8328) of the righteous gives/yields, (nathan #5414).
13. Evildoers are trapped by their sinful talk, and so the innocent escape trouble.
14. A man’s will be satisfied, (saba #7646) with good, (tov #2896b) by the fruit of his mouth and the recompense, (gemul #1576) of man’s hands will return, (shub #7725).
15. The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.
16. Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
17. An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.
18. The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the Wise brings healing.
19. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
20. Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote Peace have Joy.
21. No harm overtakes the righteous, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.
22. YHVH detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.
23. The Prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a fool’s heart blurts out folly.
24. Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.
25. Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.
26. The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27. The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.
28. In the Way of Righteousness there is Life; by way of it’s Path there is no death.
